Del Machine Tool P. L. is situated at Polt No. 111 in the Gidc Estate. Working in an industrial estate means there is always a lot of heavy machinery moving around outside and the sound of trucks loading up. Our building is a big concrete structure that gets pretty dusty because of all the work going on around us. Inside, we have our machines set up in rows and there is usually a lot of grease on the floor. We wear heavy boots and spend most of the day on our feet. The Gidc Estate is a huge place and it can be easy to get lost if you don't know where Plot 111 is. We have a small cabin in the corner where we keep the files and the computer, but we aren't in there very often. Most of our time is spent out on the floor. The air smells like metal and oil which is something you just get used to after a week. We have a few big fans that try to keep the air moving but it still gets stuffy. Our team is small and we’ve all been doing this for a long time. We don't have any fancy mission statements or slogans on the walls. We just come in, do the shifts, and go home when the work is finished for the evening.
