Thakor Ni Mithai

Thakor Ni Mithai is located in Bhagal Lokmanya Nagar. We have been at this 466751 address for a long time. Our shop is mostly just a big kitchen in the back and a small counter in the front. It stays very hot because the stoves are always going. We make things in big batches and the smell of milk and sugar is everywhere. We don't have machines to do the mixing. We use big wooden paddles and do it by hand. It makes our arms tired but that is how it has always been done here. The floor is made of old stone and it has some stains that won't come out. We don't mind it much. People from around Lokmanya Nagar come in and out all day. They usually just want a small box of something for their family. We don't have any fancy packaging with ribbons. We just use plain boxes and paper. Sometimes we run out of ingredients and have to close the shop for an hour to go to the market. We don't have a delivery truck or anything like that. If you want something, you have to come down to Bhagal and get it yourself. We are just a local shop trying to make enough for the day. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who grew up in this area. It is a quiet life.
