Surekh Eduyog Foundation

Surekh Eduyog Foundation is located in Umang Residency. It is a nice apartment building in Kansad. We are in Flat 108 of Building A. It’s a bit unusual to have a foundation in a residential flat, but it works for us. It makes everything feel more personal, I think. We are part of the Choryasi area here in Surat. We focus on education and yoga. That is why we call it 'Eduyog.' It’s mostly just a few of us who wanted to share what we know. We work with the kids and adults in the neighborhood. We don't have a big classroom. We just use the space we have. Sometimes the kids from the building come over and it gets a bit noisy. We don't mind. It feels like a real community effort. We aren't looking to become some huge school. We just want to help out where we can. Most of our work happens on the weekends when people are free. We usually have some tea and snacks while we work through things. It’s very informal. We like it that way. If you came to visit, you’d probably find us just sitting around the dining table with a bunch of notebooks. It's practical and it gets the job done without any fuss. It’s just how we do things in Kansad. We are happy with it and hope it keeps going.
