Surat Literary Foundation

You can find the Surat Literary Foundation over at Tirupati Plaza. We are in office B-109, which is right in the Athwagate area. Surat is a busy city. Athwagate is one of those places that never really stays quiet. We’ve got stacks of books and papers all over the place. We really care about reading and writing. It’s not a polished corporate office with glass walls. It’s more like a library that someone decided to put a desk in. We spend a lot of our time organizing small events. We try to get people interested in local writers. To be honest, the elevator in this building is a bit slow. We end up taking the stairs a lot. It keeps us moving, I guess. We aren’t doing this for the money or for any big recognition. We just like books. We want more people in Surat to feel the same way. Sometimes we just sit and talk about poems or stories for hours instead of doing the actual admin work we should be doing. It’s a very relaxed way to run things. We don't have any formal rules about how things should look. We just want it to be a place where people feel they can come in and talk. It should not be intimidating. We are just normal people who love a good story and want to share it.
