Solanki Rakesh

I’m Solanki Rakesh and my workplace is over in Katargam, specifically at B-5 115 Vidya Nagar. It’s part of the Gotalawadi Tenament area. For those who know Pune and the Komdhwa Khurd area, it’s a very residential and busy part of town. I spend most of my time here in the tenement. It’s a community where everyone knows everyone else’s business, which has its ups and downs but mostly feels like home. The office is small, just enough space for a desk and some chairs. I grew up not too far from here, so I’ve seen the way these buildings have aged over the years. We deal with the usual problems like the water being a bit slow some mornings or the power flickering during a storm. It’s all part of the daily routine. I usually walk to work because it’s so close, and I can pick up some breakfast on the way. People around here are mostly just trying to get through their day and provide for their families. We don’t put on any acts or try to look bigger than we are. It’s just a simple business in a crowded part of the city. I’ve been at this for a while now and I don't see myself moving anytime soon. It’s honest work and it keeps me grounded in the community I know best. If you’re ever near Vidya Nagar, you’ll probably see me around my desk or talking to neighbors.
