Site Engineer

If you know where S. V. N. I. T. College is in Surat, then you’re pretty much at my door. We are over in Village Umra on Shambhuji Street. My office as a Site Engineer is right beside the Rakamal Apartment, which is a big enough landmark for most people to find us. Ichchanath is a crowded part of Surat, so it’s always lively around here. I spend my mornings dodging students on my way to different construction sites. The office at Shambhuji Street is small, filled with blueprints and some half-empty sample bags of sand. I’ve been doing this for a long time, mostly focusing on the practical side of building. I don’t like sitting behind a desk for too long; I’d rather be on the site seeing the progress with my own eyes. People in Surat are always in a hurry, so I try to keep the work moving at a good pace. My desk is a mess of site notes and phone numbers scribbled on scraps of paper. It’s not a polished environment, but we get the engineering work done. Living and working in the 395007 area means I’m never far from the job. Whether it’s a small renovation or a bigger project, I just handle the technical bits. It’s honest work and it keeps me busy from sunrise until the street lights come on. Gujarat is building fast, and I'm glad to be part of that.
