Shree Khodiyar Farsan Mart

Shree Khodiyar Farsan Mart is located on A K Road in Naranpura 2. We are basically a snack shop that specializes in farsan. If you walk in, you’ll see rows of transparent containers filled with different types of sev, gathiya, and chips. We also make fresh snacks in the back. The smell of frying oil is pretty much part of the shop's atmosphere. We have been here for a long time and have seen the road get busier and busier every year. Most of our customers are locals who stop by on their way home from work to get something crunchy to eat with their tea. We try to keep everything well-stocked, but on holidays, the shelves get empty pretty fast. We also have those big yellow lightbulbs over the snacks to make them look nice, but mostly it's just about the taste. People tell me our gathiya is crunchier than the stuff you get at the big supermarkets. The counter is made of old wood and the scales we use are the simple digital ones. We don’t have any fancy seating; it’s just a place to buy your food and go. I spend most of my day packing snacks into plastic bags and weighing them out. Sometimes the bags don't seal right and I have to do it over again. It’s not a perfect system, but it works for us. We just keep making snacks that people in Naranpura enjoy.
