Shree Engineering

The shop is located right on Laskana Street No 1 in Kabir Nagar. It is mostly just us working with the machines all day. There is always a lot of metal scraps on the floor and the smell of cutting oil in the air. We spend most of our time at the lathes or dealing with whatever parts come in that morning. It can get pretty loud when all the machines are running at the same time, so you have to yell a bit to be heard by anyone else in the room. Most of the people who come here are looking for specific parts or need something repaired that broke down at their own place. We have a lot of tools hanging on the walls, and sometimes it takes a minute to find the exact one we need because things get moved around. The light in the back of the shop isn't the best, so we use a few extra lamps when we are doing the fine work on the smaller pieces. Laskana Street stays busy with trucks and rickshaws, so there is always noise coming in from the open door. We usually take our lunch sitting on the stools near the workbench. It’s not fancy at all, just a place where we get the work done. Some days the power goes out and we just have to sit and wait, which is frustrating but that is how it goes here in Kabir Nagar. We just keep at it until the jobs are finished.
