You can find us at Shed No. 1 on Plot 162 in the GIDC Estate in Pandesara. We’ve been making windows here for a while. It’s a big shed, which is good because window frames take up a lot of room. There’s always the sound of cutting or glass being moved around. Sen-Harvic is just the name on the door; mostly it's just a crew of local guys working the machines. We focus on getting the measurements right because if a window doesn't fit, it's no good to anyone. Pandesara is a busy industrial hub, so there’s always noise and dust outside. We try to keep the inside of the shed as clean as possible, but with metal filings and sawdust, it’s a constant battle. We don't have a showroom or anything fancy. If you want to see what we do, you just walk into the workshop. We have a few old desks in the corner where we handle the bills and the phone calls. Sometimes the rain hits the metal roof so hard we can't hear each other talk. We just keep our heads down and finish the orders. It’s straightforward work. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just make windows and hope they last a long time for the people who buy them. We have a big scrap bin for the offcuts, and the cooling fans are always running to keep the air moving. It’s a bit messy, but that’s how work gets done here.
