The address is 412/2 in the Bardolia Compound, right on Vasta Devadi Road. If you know this part of the city, you know how hectic the road gets at all hours. There are trucks everywhere and people rushing around with big bundles of cloth on their heads. Sankalp is located inside the compound, which gives us a little bit of a shield from the direct road noise, but not much. Inside, it’s mostly just us and the stock. We’ve been here for a while now, and the place has that lived-in feel to it. The shelves are packed tight, and sometimes we have to move three things just to find one specific item. Vasta Devadi Road is a central hub for this kind of textile work, so we see all sorts of people walking through. We usually start the day early before the afternoon heat gets too bad. The Bardolia Compound itself is quite old, with narrow pathways and a lot of history in the walls. You can see the old bricks in some spots where the plaster has fallen off. We don't have any bright lights or fancy signs outside. It’s just the name on the door and a lot of work inside. Lunch is usually something quick brought from home. We sit on the packing crates and talk about the work left for the week. The fans are always on, but they mostly just move the warm air around. It’s a tough environment but it’s ours.
