Kalbdevi Road is always crowded and my place at number 33 is right in the middle of it all. I spend most of my time here dealing with whatever comes across my desk. It is a noisy street but you get used to the sound of the horns and people shouting outside. I have been working out of this spot in Dindoli for a long time. People usually find me just by asking around the neighborhood. The space is small and filled with papers and folders from years of work. I usually start early before the heat gets too bad. It is not a corporate office with a lobby or a receptionist. It is just me and the work I do every day. Sometimes friends drop by for a chat while I’m finishing up a task. My family has been around this area for quite a while so I know most of the shopkeepers on the road. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint but it doesn’t bother me much. I prefer spending my time getting the job finished rather than worrying about how the room looks. It is an honest living and I like being my own boss in this part of town. You can hear the city moving all around us while we sit and talk. It’s just how life is on Kalbdevi Road. I try to stay focused on the task at hand and get things done for the people who come to see me.
