Natureops India Foundation

Natureops India Foundation is way out in Ghantoli. We are in the Dhabadi Falia area, in Mandvi, Surat. The pin code is 394160. It is a bit of a drive to get here from the main city, but Surat is a big place. Being in Ghantoli means we are close to the ground. You can see the trees and the fields from our window. It’s very different from an office in a skyscraper. The air is better, mostly. Our building is simple, just some brick and concrete. We don’t have air conditioning, so we rely on the fans and the windows. Sometimes a cow walks past the front door or a tractor goes by. It is very rural and that suits the work we are doing. We have a few desks and some plastic chairs. We don't spend money on fancy rugs or expensive lights. Most of our day is spent talking to the locals who live in the falia. They stop by to ask questions or just to see what we are doing. We drink a lot of water because it gets dusty out here. It’s a very basic setup, but it gets the job done. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who care about the area. It’s a quiet life in Mandvi, but we stay busy enough with the daily tasks. It is just us out here in the heat.
