Mrigatrishna Foundation

You can find us in Surat, over at Vikramnagar-2 in Punavill. We’re on the first floor, unit B/147. It’s a pretty standard area, lots of families and other small offices around. The Mrigatrishna Foundation is based here. We aren't a big operation by any means. It’s mostly just a few chairs, some desks, and a lot of filing cabinets. We spend a good chunk of our day just going through records and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s not the kind of work that gets you on the news, but it’s important to us. Surat is a busy city, so there’s always noise outside, but we’ve gotten used to it. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just try to be useful. Some days it feels like we’re just pushing paper, but then we see the progress we’ve made and it feels alright. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll just see us working. We like to keep things simple and avoid all that corporate talk. We’re just regular people trying to keep this foundation going. It’s been a learning process for us, but we’re getting the hang of it one day at a time. The office is usually a bit warm in the summer, but we have a fan that helps. We aren't looking for awards or anything like that. We just want to stay organized and do our job.
