Our office is at number 35 in the Seema Nagar Society, located in the Palanpur Patiya area of Surat. It is a residential neighborhood, so it feels very grounded and part of the local community. Most people who come to see us are surprised that we are right in the middle of a housing society, but it makes for a much nicer environment than being in a crowded industrial zone. The office itself is a simple ground-floor space. We have a few computers and a lot of cabinets for all the project files we have to keep track of. Surat is famous for its heat and humidity, so we have fans going in every corner to keep the air moving. Sometimes the neighborhood kids are playing cricket outside, and you can hear the shouts and the ball hitting the ground, which is a nice break from the sound of typing. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. If someone comes by, they just pull up a spare chair and sit with us. The address 395009 is our little corner of the city. We handle a lot of the local coordination from here, and because we are in a society, we know all our neighbors by name. It is a very relaxed atmosphere, but we still get a lot of work done. There is no corporate dress code here; we just wear what is comfortable for the weather and focus on getting through the daily list of things to do.
