Krishna Glass Aluminium

Down here at Udhna Kale Padal Road 129, things stay pretty busy at Krishna Glass Aluminium. We spend most of the day surrounded by sheets of glass and long pieces of silver metal. It’s a dusty kind of job, and there is always the sound of cutting or grinding going on in the background. My hands are usually covered in small marks from handling the sharp edges, but that’s just part of the trade. We don't have a big office or a place to sit and drink tea for hours. Most of the space is taken up by the materials we need to build window frames or partitions for the shops around here. The road outside is usually loud with trucks and bikes passing by, so we have to shout a bit to be heard sometimes. It’s a practical business. We take the measurements, cut the glass, and try to make sure everything fits right. Sometimes the measurements are a bit off and we have to start over, but we get it done in the end. People from the neighborhood know where we are, right on the main stretch of the road. We aren't big on decorations or making the shop look pretty. It’s a workshop first and foremost. We just focus on the heavy lifting and making sure the glass doesn't break before it gets to where it’s going. It’s hard work, especially when the sun hits the metal and everything gets hot, but it keeps us busy every day.
