About Gelkrupa Glass Window Fibre – Building & Construction Material in Surat
Our shop is down on Varachha Road, right near where it meets Bvk Iyengar Road 1. It is a bit of a tight squeeze with all the glass panes leaning against the walls. You have to be careful walking around because everything is sharp and clear. We spend a lot of time cutting things to size and the sound of the glass cutter is something you get used to after the first week. We deal with fibre frames too, which get a bit messy with the dust. The shop isn't very large so we have to be smart about how we stack the inventory. There is always a faint smell of silicone and cleaning spray in the air. The front door stays open most of the day to let a breeze in, but it also lets in all the noise from the street. Sometimes a customer comes in with a broken window frame they brought from home and we look at it to see if it can be fixed up. It’s just me and a couple of others working the tools. We don't have fancy displays, just the materials we use every day. If you look at the floor, there are always tiny bits of offcuts that we sweep up every evening before locking up. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down over the buildings. We just take the measurements and do the cutting as it comes.
