Honest Iron & Engineering Works

You can find Honest Iron & Engineering Works right opposite the Bardoli G.I.D.C. on the Surat Bardoli Road. It’s a busy stretch of highway, and there are always trucks and cars zooming past our front gate. The dust from the road sometimes settles on everything, so we are constantly wiping down our tools. Our workspace is pretty open, which is good for moving long iron bars and heavy engineering parts around. It can get quite noisy with the sound of grinding and welding going on throughout the day. The bright flash of the welding torches is a common sight in the back of the shop. We don't have a big reception area or anything. People usually just walk in and find someone on the shop floor. The ground is dirt and gravel in some places and concrete in others. When it rains, the sound on the metal roof is so loud we can hardly hear each other speak. We have a few old chairs in the corner for when we take a break, but they aren't very comfortable. Bardoli is a good place to be, even if it gets incredibly hot during the summer months. We just focus on the iron work and the machines. There is always something that needs fixing or a piece of metal that needs cutting. It’s a basic way to make a living, and we just keep at it every day until the work is done.
