Heaven Interior Design

Our little office is in Flat 204, right above the Peoples Bank in Rudnapura. It’s a busy building in Surat and the stairs are always crowded. Heaven Interior Design isn’t a huge firm with dozens of architects. It’s just a few of us who like making rooms look better. We have samples of wood, laminate, and fabric scattered all over the tables. It’s a bit of a mess most of the time. We spend our days drawing plans and talking to carpenters. Sometimes we are out at construction sites getting dust on our shoes. We don't have a fancy showroom. We usually just show clients pictures of what we’ve done on our tablets or in old albums. My sister and I decided to do this because we both liked picking out colors and furniture. We don't use a lot of big words or corporate talk. We just listen to what people want for their homes. Often, we’re dealing with small apartments where space is tight. We have to figure out how to fit everything in. Sometimes the bank downstairs is so noisy we have to close the windows. We drink a lot of coffee while we work on designs late into the night. It’s not a glamorous job like you see on TV. It’s mostly measuring walls and arguing with suppliers about delivery dates. But we like it when a project finally comes together and the client is happy with their new kitchen.
