Hakooba Creations

We are located on Ghod Dod Road, right at U 30. If you know the area, you know it gets pretty crowded on the weekends with shoppers and cars everywhere. Hakooba Creations is our little workspace where we handle all sorts of fabric and design work. It’s usually a bit of a mess with scraps of cloth and thread all over the floor. We don't mind the clutter because it means we’re actually getting work done. It’s a family-run thing, mostly. We grew up around textiles, so it felt natural to start this up ourselves. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be clever about where we stack the rolls of material. Sometimes the sewing machines make so much noise you can't hear the phone ringing at the front desk. We just work at our own pace. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop on the road. We just want to make things that look decent and last a while. A lot of our neighbors stop in just to see what new patterns we've got. It feels like a real community here. We have a small wooden bench outside where we sit when we need a break from the noise of the machines. The sun hits the front window in the afternoon, making it really warm inside, so we usually open the door. We’ve been at U 30 for a few years now. We've thought about moving to a bigger place, but we like it here. It's got a good feel to it. People stop by, have a chat, and maybe pick something out. It’s a simple life, and we’re happy with it.
