Our office is situated in the Hazira area of Surat. It’s a major industrial zone, so we are right in the thick of things. Engineering is the main language spoken around here, with all the plants and factories nearby. Our particular setup is pretty basic because we spend a lot of our time focused on the technical side of things. It’s often quite hot and dusty outside, so the office is our little refuge where we can get some work done. We don't have a fancy street address like some city offices, but everyone in the industry knows where Hazira is. The days here usually start early to avoid the midday sun. We have stacks of files and rolls of drawings leaning against the walls. It’s the kind of place where you aren't afraid to get your hands a little dirty if you have to go out on a site visit. Most of us have been working in this part of Surat for a long time, so we are used to the heavy trucks and the constant hum of the industrial belt. Lunch is usually something brought from home, eaten quickly so we can get back to our tasks. We don't spend much time on decorations or making the place look "corporate." We just need a roof over our heads and a place to put our computers to get the job finished.
