I work out of B 601 in the President Plaza. If you are looking for the office, it is right near the R T O Ring Road Office. This part of the Ring Road is always jammed with cars and bikes, so getting here takes some patience in the mornings. Being on the sixth floor gives a bit of a view but mostly I am looking at drawings and site plans on my desk. As an engineer, things have to be exact or nothing works out in the end. I spend a lot of time with a pencil behind my ear and a calculator nearby. The office is quiet compared to the street noise below. I like it that way because it lets me think clearly about the projects. There are always rolls of paper leaning against the walls and a faint smell of ink and old files in the air. People come in to talk about their buildings or some repair work they need for their homes. I try to explain things in a way that makes sense without using too much technical talk that nobody really understands anyway. The RTO office nearby means there are always people rushing around outside, which makes me glad to be inside my office most of the day. It is just me and a couple of assistants here. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay on top of the deadlines. It is a lot of responsibility making sure things are built right.
