We are based out of Om Villa in the Saiyed Mohol area of Adajan Village. It’s a part of Surat that still feels a bit more tied to the land, even with the city growing around it. Blackheath Aquaculture and Poultry is the name on the door, and we do exactly what that says. We’ve got our hands in both the fish side of things and the poultry side. It keeps us pretty busy, because those are two very different worlds to manage. One minute you're checking water levels and the next you're worried about feed for the birds. It’s a lot of work and sometimes it gets messy, but that is the reality of this kind of business. We don't have a big fancy storefront or anything like that. It's just a functional space where we work. We started this because we knew the area and saw how much people needed local sources for these things. There are days when the pumps break or the weather is too hot for the chickens, and those are the long days. But we just get through it. We aren't interested in sounding like a big company; we are just local folks in Surat trying to make a living with aquaculture and farming. It’s honest work and it keeps us on our toes. There is always something that needs fixing or cleaning, but we just take it as it comes.
