Our office is on the first floor of the Trishna Complex, right there on Ring Road. We’re tucked behind the Hotel Relex Inn, which is a good landmark if you’re coming from the Delhi Gate side. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit steep, and the hallway can be a little dark. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, chairs, and a lot of filing cabinets. We spend a lot of time on the phone or staring at computer screens. There’s always a stack of folders waiting to be sorted through. People come to us when they’re trying to figure out how to get some money from the bank for a house or a new business. It’s a lot of paperwork, and sometimes the rules change, so we have to keep up with that. The noise from Ring Road never really stops, so we keep the windows shut most of the time to hear ourselves talk. We have a small water cooler in the corner that makes a glugging sound every now and then. It’s not a fancy corporate office with glass walls or expensive art. It’s just a practical space where we sit and work through the numbers. We use a lot of pens and even more paper. Sometimes the power goes out for a few minutes, and we just sit there and wait for the generator to kick in so we can get back to our emails. It's just a regular office.
