We are right by the Shri Ram Janki Mandir on Piri Road. Most people know the Bagiya Chauraha intersection, so we are fairly easy to spot if you are wandering around Jaisinghpur. Trading for us is mostly about keeping track of what’s sitting in stock and making sure the people who come in get exactly what they asked for. Our shop isn't very large at all, but we manage to pack a lot of items into the space we have. It gets a bit cluttered sometimes with bags and boxes piled up everywhere. We tend to open up early in the morning. Usually, the first thing we do is sweep the front area and check through the ledgers to see what’s pending. Being so close to the temple means there are always people walking by. It feels like we are a real part of the community here. We talk to our neighbors every single day. Some days are quite slow and we just sit there and watch the traffic move through the crossroads. Other days, it feels like everyone comes in at once and it’s a bit of a scramble to help them all. We don't have a big computerized system, just a way of doing things that works for us. We try to keep things very simple. If we have it in the back, we sell it. If we don’t, we tell you when the next shipment might arrive. It’s just an honest way to make a living.
