TEXTILE PARK ASSOCIATION

The Textile Park Association is based at the Silk Park in the Zakura Industrial Estate area of Srinagar. If you are looking for us, you should ask for Bilal Ahmad Kawoosa’s spot. We spend a lot of time here dealing with the various things that come up when you are running a textile-focused association. It is an industrial area, so there is always the sound of machines or trucks moving around in the background. It’s not the quietest place to work, but it feels productive. We have been here for a while and the office has a lot of old files and stuff that has accumulated over the years. We try to keep it organized, but sometimes the work just piles up faster than we can file it away. We use the 190006 pin code for all our mail. Most of the day is spent talking to people or checking on how things are going in the park. We don’t have a big corporate team; it’s just a few of us making sure everything stays on track. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay warm when the winter sets in. It’s a very straightforward way of working. No one here is trying to be fancy or act like they are in a big city office. We are just regular people in Srinagar doing what we know how to do, day in and day out, until the work is finally done for the evening.
