Sana Sheikh Couture (Opc) Private Limited

Our work happens at House Number 5 in Kani Mazar, specifically the Amir Din Sharoo part of Srinagar. Sana Sheikh Couture (Opc) Private Limited is based right here in this residential area. It is a bit of a squeeze sometimes because we use the rooms for cutting fabric and sewing. The street outside is usually full of people we know, and you can hear the call to prayer from the nearby mosques. We aren't some big fashion house with a runway. We are just a few people with sewing machines and a lot of thread. The house is a typical Srinagar home, and we’ve converted part of it for our work. We have racks of clothes hanging up in the hallways sometimes. It gets a bit messy with all the scraps of cloth on the floor, but that is just how it goes when you are busy. The 190003 area is where we spend all our time. We don't have a secretary or a lobby. If you knock on the door, one of us will just come and open it. We work long hours when there is a lot to get done, especially before the holidays or wedding seasons. It is just practical work. We focus on the garments and making sure the measurements are right. It’s a local business, run by local people, in a regular neighborhood. We don't have time for anything flashy, we just keep our heads down and sew until the sun goes down.
