Military Engineering Service

This office is the Head Q Cif(K) unit, and we are tucked away at C/O 56, APO Badamibagh in the Srinagar district. Most people know the area near Pantha Shop, which is just a short trip from where we handle our daily business. Working in engineering for the military service means things are usually done in a very specific way. We don't have time for a lot of talk; we just focus on the infrastructure and maintenance that keeps things moving in this part of the country. The weather up here in Srinagar can be a real challenge for any kind of construction or repair work. We deal with snow, cold, and rough terrain all the time. Our days start early, usually before the sun is fully up, and we spend a lot of time looking at site reports or coordinating with crews out in the field. It isn't a typical office job. There’s a lot of responsibility that comes with making sure the facilities are in good shape. We’ve been part of the landscape here for quite a while. The building we work in has seen better days, but it’s sturdy and serves its purpose. We don't really do customers in the normal sense, we just serve the needs of the station and the people stationed here. It’s a quiet kind of dedication that keeps us going through the seasons. Each day brings its own set of puzzles to solve.
