Markus Kraft

Markus Kraft is located over at Smart Jeans on Forest Lane in the Lal Chowk area of Srinagar. If you know the 190001 neighborhood, you know it gets pretty busy around here most days. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a while now. It’s not some big corporate headquarters or anything like that. It’s just a space where we handle our daily business. Forest Lane is a narrow enough place, and you can always hear the general noise of the city right outside our door. We don't really go in for fancy office decor or anything like that. There are some desks and the usual files you would expect to see in a working office. Most of the time, we’re just focusing on getting things done. Being inside the Smart Jeans premises makes it a bit unique, I suppose. People sometimes get a little confused, but once they walk in, they find us easily enough. The weather in Srinagar can be a real challenge sometimes, especially in the winter months, but we try to keep things moving regardless of the snow or rain outside. We’ve seen the shops around us change quite a bit over the years. Some neighbors have been here forever, and others are brand new. We just keep to our own routine. It’s a straightforward way to work. We don't have any big speeches to give. We just provide what we provide from this little corner of Lal Chowk. If you happen to be passing by Forest Lane, that’s where you’ll find us.
