Bombyx Mori Silks & Textiles

We are based out of the SIDCO Industrial Complex, specifically in Phase two at unit number forty-five. Being in an industrial area like this means we are surrounded by other workshops and factories. It’s a noisy place with trucks and machinery, but that’s where the real work happens. Bombyx Mori Silks & Textiles is where we handle a lot of the silk processing and general textile work. The building is basically a large shed with some office space partitioned off at the front. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find fancy decorations or nice furniture. We have machines running for a good part of the day, so there’s always a hum in the background that we’ve gotten used to. We spend a lot of time checking the threads and making sure the looms are doing what they are supposed to. Silk can be tricky to work with, so you have to keep a close eye on it every step of the way. The floors are concrete and there’s usually a bit of grease and thread scraps around the corners. We have a small crew of workers who know their way around the machinery. Most of us have been doing this for years and don't need to be told what to do. It’s hot in the summer months, but we’ve got big fans to keep the air moving through the space. We don’t worry much about how the place looks to outsiders as long as the production stays on schedule and the quality is okay for our customers.
