Bella Pashmina Shawls

Bella Pashmina Shawls is based out of Fatehkadal. It’s an old part of the city, and that’s where we like to stay. We don't have a big glass storefront or a shiny sign. Most of our work happens in the back where the shawls are kept. Dealing with pashmina is a slow process. It involves a lot of looking at fine threads and making sure the weave is tight. The winters here get really cold, so that’s when we’re usually the busiest. People know us in the neighborhood, and we’ve been at this for a long time. It’s not a modern business with fancy software. We mostly use notebooks to keep track of what we have and who bought what. Sometimes the light in the shop isn't great, but we know the fabrics by touch anyway. Fatehkadal has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of it. We don’t do much advertising. Mostly, it’s just people telling their friends about us or travelers finding their way to our door. The piles of shawls can get quite high, and it takes time to show someone everything we have. We don't rush things here. If you want to see the work, you just have to sit down for a bit. It’s a quiet life, focused on the wool and the patterns. We plan on staying right here in Fatehkadal for the foreseeable future.
