We are located right here in Alamdar Colony, in the Lal Bazar area of Srinagar. Working for Anand Rathi Securities Ltd. in Kashmir means our days are often dictated by the stock market hours and the local weather. When the internet is working well and the market is up, the office gets pretty lively. You can find us at Pin-190011, tucked away in a spot that most locals know well. It’s not a huge, flashy office. It’s mostly just desks, computers, and a few chairs for people to sit on while they check their portfolios. We drink a lot of Noon Chai here to stay warm during the winter months when the chill comes off the mountains. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to wait a bit to get everything back online. It’s just part of living and working in Srinagar. People from the neighborhood drop by quite often to ask about their shares or just to see how the day is going. We’ve known some of these clients for years, so it feels more like a community spot than a big financial firm. We handle the trades and the paperwork as it comes. It’s a busy life, balancing the numbers on the screen with the reality of life in Lal Bazar. We just do our best to keep things moving and make sure everyone’s accounts are sorted out properly.
