Al Ghazali Model Sec. Institute

You can find Al Ghazali Model Sec. Institute over in the Jamia Bazar area of Sanat Nagar. The building is a bit different from the others nearby, made of L-shaped concrete. Srinagar is a beautiful city to have a school in, even if the cold winters can be a bit tough on the old plumbing. We spend a lot of our time in the winter making sure the classrooms are warm enough so the kids can actually hold their pens. Since it is a secondary institute, the students are a bit older and usually more focused on their studies. We have a few science labs that have the basic equipment, like glass beakers and some microscopes that have seen better days. The hallways are usually packed with students rushing to get to their next lesson. We have a small canteen on the ground floor where they sell hot tea and some basic snacks. The staff is a good mix of older teachers who have been here for decades and a few younger faces. We often sit and talk about the local news while we eat our lunch. The concrete walls of the building stay nice and cool during the summer months, which is a relief for everyone. Sanat Nagar is a very busy area, so there is always noise and movement outside the school gates. We do our best with what we have and keep the place running.
