Lovely Ice Cream

We are right by the Housing Board area, practically next to the riksha stand. It’s a very busy little corner because there are always people waiting for rides or walking home to the flats. We started this because we liked the idea of having a local spot for treats. The shop isn't big, but we have the freezers lined up and plenty of space for people to stand and pick what they want. You can hear the rikshas pulling in and out all day long, and the drivers often pop in for a quick break. It gets especially crowded in the evenings when families come out after dinner. We spend most of our time scooping or restocking the cabinets. The floors need mopping a few times a day because of the foot traffic. We aren't trying to be a fancy cafe or anything like that. It’s just a simple place where you can get an ice cream and go about your day. We’ve gotten to know a lot of the kids from the housing board and the regulars who pass by every morning. Sometimes the freezer motors are a bit loud, but you get used to the hum. It’s a nice way to spend the day, seeing people happy to get something cold when it’s hot out. We keep things pretty basic and just focus on the shop. It is what it is.
