Pandit Shri Vinod Shastri Acharya

I’ve been staying over here in Palam Vihar for a long time now. It’s a busy place but I’ve managed to find my own rhythm among the houses and the people who live around here. My name is Pandit Shri Vinod Shastri Acharya, though most people just call me by my name when they see me. I don’t have any big signs or advertisements outside because everyone just knows where I am. I spend my days doing what I’ve always done, which is helping out with the various ceremonies and prayers that families need. Sometimes the days are very long and I don’t get much rest, especially during the festival seasons when everyone wants things done at the same time. Palam Vihar has changed a lot since I first arrived, with more cars and more people, but the basic things stay the same. People still need guidance for their special days or when they are starting something new in their lives. I just try to be available when someone knocks on the door or gives me a call. It’s not a complicated business, it’s just my life and how I contribute to the community here. I’m usually up before the sun to start my own practice before anyone else wakes up. It gives me a bit of peace before the phone starts ringing or the neighbors come by to ask a question about a date. I keep my books ready and try to stay helpful.
