So we are tucked away in Bapu Colony, specifically at D-171/3. It’s right off that Jaunapur-Mandi Road, which is always busy with those big trucks moving back and forth all day. Hemjeet Works has been operating out of this spot for quite a bit of time. The shop floor is usually a mess of metal scraps and tools because we are always in the middle of something. It gets pretty hot in the summer, especially with the machines running, but we have a few fans that keep the air moving a little. We don’t have a big front office or a receptionist. Usually, if you walk in, you’ll just see someone in overalls wiping grease off their hands. We do a lot of manual work here. It is noisy and dusty, but that is the nature of what we do. The neighbors know us well by now. We try to keep the noise down in the evenings, but sometimes a job takes longer and we have to stay late. The road outside is always under repair, it feels like. We just focus on the tasks at hand. There’s a small shop down the street where we get lunch, and that’s about as much of a break as we get. It isn't a glamorous setup, just a practical place where we get the day's work finished before heading home to our families.
