Shiv Bricks Industries

Our place, Shiv Bricks Industries, is tucked away in Kowaimura Village. If you know where the Jagatnat Mandir is, you basically know where we are. We are just a short walk from there in the Killa Block area. It’s a small operation, mostly just a handful of us working the soil and getting the molds ready every morning. The ground here is good for what we do. We spend most of our time out in the open, watching the sky because a sudden storm can ruin a whole week of work if the bricks aren't dry yet. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting and stacking, then moving things to the kiln. We don't use much big machinery, it's mostly hands-on stuff. The neighbors stop by sometimes to chat while we’re working. The dust gets everywhere, on our clothes and in our hair, but that's part of the life. We usually have tea together in the afternoon when it gets too hot to move fast. It’s a simple life here in the village. We aren't trying to do anything too complicated, just making sure the bricks come out solid. The kiln fire needs constant watching at night too. Someone always has to stay back to keep an eye on things. It’s just how we get things done around here, day after day, without making much noise about it. We’ve been here for years and we like the quiet of the village.
