Pipulbari Fish Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are a small group of people working together at Pipulbari Fish Farmer Producer Company Limited. Our main spot is located at Zaidul Islam’s place in Village Pipulbaript III. It is a quiet area near Dhanua. We spend most of our days out by the water because that is where the fish are. It’s not an easy job and your clothes always smell like the ponds, but it is what we do here in Mankachar. We share the work and try to help each other out with the breeding and the feeding schedules. The weather can be a real problem sometimes. When the rain is too heavy, the ponds can overflow, and when it is too dry, we worry about the oxygen in the water. We don't have a big office with air conditioning. We just sit around a wooden table at the house and figure out our plans for the next month. Zaidul keeps all the records in a big ledger. People around here know us because we’ve lived in this village our whole lives. We aren't trying to be some big global company. We just want to make sure the fish are healthy and the business keeps running so we can support our families. The road coming from the post office in Dhanua is mostly dirt, so it gets quite muddy when the monsoon hits. You have to be careful driving. We’re just local folks trying to do honest work. We are usually here until sundown.
