Goa College Of Engineering

The Goa College Of Engineering is located in Farmagudi, within the Bhausaheb Bandodkar Technical Education Complex. It’s up on a hill, so the air is a bit fresher than down in the towns. The campus is spread out over a lot of land with plenty of greenery and trees. During the monsoon, everything turns incredibly green, but it also means dealing with a lot of rain and damp walls. The buildings are older and have a bit of character to them, though they need regular maintenance to keep the leaks away. Students usually spend their time between the lecture halls and the library, which is a big building with a lot of old journals. We have workshops where the equipment is a mix of stuff from decades ago and some newer machines. It’s a relaxed kind of place, partly because of the Goa vibe, but the exams still keep everyone stressed. There are some small canteens where you can get fish curry and rice, which is what most people eat for lunch. The walk between buildings can be a bit steep, so everyone gets their exercise just by going to class. We don't have the flashy facilities of the private colleges, but we have a lot of space and history. It’s a quiet life up here in Farmagudi. Most of the staff live in the quarters nearby, so it feels like a small village. It’s just a place where we do our work.
