Our office is located at K-36 in Batla House, right in the middle of Jamia Nagar. If you know this part of Delhi, you know how packed the streets can get. There are people, rickshaws, and bikes everywhere, so it is always lively. The building itself is tucked away in one of the lanes. It is a small space, and we have to be very careful about how we use the room we have. We don't have big windows or a view, but we have enough light to see our work. The noise from the street filtered through the walls is just part of the background music for us now. We do a lot of coordination from this desk. It is often quite hot, and the electricity can be a bit temperamental in this area, so we have a backup system that kicks in. We eat local food from the stalls nearby most days because the smells are too good to ignore. The team is just a handful of us, and we all know each other's habits. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the wall, just a calendar and some notes about deadlines. It is a very real, gritty part of the city to work in, but we like the energy. We just keep our heads down and get the reports finished as they come in. It is a practical office for practical people.
