Being in Okhla means you are always in the middle of a lot of noise and movement. Our office for Prothious Engg. Services Ltd is over in Abul Fazal Enclave, right at Thokar No-4. We are on the 3rd floor of building I-36. There isn't an elevator, so we all get our exercise for the day just by coming to work. The stairs are narrow and a bit steep. Once you get up there, it is a pretty simple setup. We have a few rooms with desks and computers. It is not the kind of place with fancy art on the walls or expensive leather chairs. We just use what we have and focus on the tasks. Delhi summers are really tough, so we have the AC running as much as we can, though it struggles sometimes. We usually get our lunch from the small dhabas nearby. The food is good and cheap. There are so many small businesses in this part of Okhla that you always see people moving goods or talking on the streets. It is a very busy atmosphere. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. If you call, you just talk to whoever is free at the moment. We have been here for a while and we know the other people in the building. It is a practical place for us to do our engineering work without any distractions.
