Our office is on the 3rd floor of the Lotus Towers in New Friends Colony. It’s a different vibe here compared to the factories, but it’s still busy in its own way. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries India Pvt Ltd has been based in this community centre area for some time. You can see the trees and the other buildings from the windows, which is nice when things get stressful. We spend a lot of time on computers and on the phone, dealing with all the different projects we have going on across the country. There are a lot of meetings in the small conference room we have. Sometimes it feels like we are just moving files from one side of the desk to the other, but it’s all part of the bigger picture of what the company does. We have a pantry where everyone gathers for lunch and talks about anything but work. It’s a bit more formal than a workshop, but we try to keep it friendly. The air conditioning is usually blasting because the Delhi heat is no joke, even in a building like this. We have people coming in from different parts of the city, so the morning starts with everyone complaining about the traffic they faced on the way in. It’s just a regular office life where we try to stay organized and get through the pile of work on our desks.
