Our spot is at G-97/A in the Abul Fazal Enclave, right in the Jamia Nagar area of Okhla. If you’ve ever been to this part of New Delhi, you know how packed and lively it gets. The streets are narrow and there’s always something going on outside—people talking, rickshaws honking, and the general buzz of the city. We’re located in a building that’s been around for a while. It’s not a shiny glass tower, just a regular brick and concrete place that fits right into the neighborhood. Inside, things are pretty straightforward. We have our desks, some chairs for visitors, and stacks of files that seem to grow every week. It gets a bit noisy during the day because of the traffic outside, but we’ve all gotten used to it by now. Most of the staff comes in from different parts of Delhi, and we handle the local operations for Larsen & Toubro Ltd from these rooms. The morning starts with everyone talking about how long the metro or the bus took. We don’t go in for big meetings with fancy presentations; mostly, we just sit around the main table and figure out what needs to get done for the day. Lunch is usually brought from home, and the smell of different spices fills the office around one o’clock. It’s a tight-knit environment because the space isn’t huge. We know each other’s habits and how we like our tea. It’s just a normal workplace where we stay on top of things.
