We are Hkmt Acoustic Designs Pvt. Ltd., located on the 1st floor of H-95 in Lajpat Nagar-1st. Being in New Delhi means it's always busy outside our window. The traffic in 110024 is something else, but we've gotten used to the noise over the years. Our work is actually about sound, ironically enough. We spend most of our time in this office figuring out how to make spaces quieter or better for listening. It's a lot of technical stuff, but we try to keep it practical. The office is a bit cramped because we have so many samples and tools lying around. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who know what we are doing. We've been at H-95 for a long time. Some of the neighbors have changed, but we are still here on the first floor. It's not a shiny corporate building. It's just a regular Delhi block. We drink a lot of coffee and talk through problems until they're solved. We don't use big words to explain what we do. We just look at the space and see what's needed. If you're coming to see us, just look for the building number near the market. It’s a plain place, but it’s where all the work happens. We like being in Lajpat Nagar because everything we need is right around the corner. It makes running the business a lot easier when you don't have to go far.
