Our place, Gautam Eye Care And Hearing Aid Clinic, is situated on the lower ground floor at 74/5 in the Yusuf Sarai Main Market. We are right near Gupta Sweets, which is a good landmark for people who are trying to find us for the first time. Being on the lower ground floor means it stays a bit cooler than the street level, which is nice during the long Delhi summers. The Yusuf Sarai market is always packed with people, and the Green Park area is right there too, so it’s a very busy part of town. We handle both eyes and hearing, so we have different bits of equipment for each. The shop isn't fancy; we have some glass cases for frames and a quiet corner for the hearing tests. Most of our day is spent helping people pick out glasses or checking their ears. We get a lot of older folks from the neighborhood who have been coming to us for a long time. They usually sit and chat for a bit even after they are done with their appointment, which we don't mind. Parking around here is a nightmare, so we usually tell people to take the metro if they can. We have a small staff, and we all do a bit of everything, from answering the phone to cleaning the display cases. It’s a decent way to earn a living and help the locals out with their vision and hearing without making things complicated.
