Gangotri Dairy Farm

Mornings start really early here at Shivalik. It’s usually still dark when we get moving. Being near Malviya Nagar means things are getting more built up around us, but we’re still here at A-254. The cows don’t care what time it is; they need feeding and milking regardless of the weather. It’s a physical job, and your hands never really stay clean for long. We’ve got a routine that we’ve stuck to for years. The milk goes out fresh, and that’s the main thing we worry about. Some of the neighbors have been getting their milk from us since they were kids. It’s not like those big industrial dairies you see on television. We know each animal and we know the quirks of the equipment. Sometimes a machine breaks down or a delivery bike has a flat tire, and we just have to fix it on the fly. It can be exhausting when the heat picks up in the afternoon, but there’s a certain peace to it once the work is done. We keep the place as tidy as a farm can be, though there’s always a bit of straw or some buckets lying around. It’s just honest work. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertising because everyone around here already knows who we are and where we are. We just focus on the animals and the milk every single day.
