You can find Energo Engineering Projects Ltd over at Flat No 6, Pocket A 11 in the Kalkaji Extension area of New Delhi. Since we are in a flat, it doesn't feel like a typical corporate office, which we actually prefer because it feels a bit more like home. We’ve converted the different rooms into workspaces, and the kitchen is where we all end up meeting for coffee breaks. It’s a quiet enough pocket of Kalkaji, away from the main road noise, so we can actually hear ourselves think while we are working on engineering designs. There are stacks of files in almost every corner because we tend to keep everything on paper as well as on the computers. The balcony has a few chairs where we sit when we need a break from the screens. It’s a small group of us here, and we’ve all worked together for a long time, so we don't really need a lot of formal meetings. We just shout across the hallway if we need something. Most days are spent looking at technical drawings or talking to site managers on the phone. Sometimes the internet acts up or the power goes out, which is just part of living and working in Delhi, but we have a backup system that usually kicks in. It’s a steady kind of life here, just doing the work day after day without any big surprises.
