We’ve been here in Lado Sarai at K-185/186 for quite a while now. If you know Khokrewali Galli No: 1, you probably passed by us many times. It gets really busy on this street during the day. We mostly do engineering and building work, though that covers a lot of ground. Some days it’s mostly metal fabrication, while other days we are just looking at site drawings or dealing with supplies coming in on the trucks. It’s a ground floor setup, so people often just pop their head in to ask a question or see how a project is coming along. Mehrauli is a crowded part of New Delhi, and keeping things organized in the shop is always a bit of a struggle for us. We’ve got a small team here. Most of us have been working together long enough that we don’t need to talk much to get the job done. We just show up, look at what needs finishing, and get to it. Sometimes the power goes out or the delivery truck gets stuck in the narrow lane, but that is just how it is around here. We don’t have a fancy office with leather chairs or anything. It’s mostly just desks with papers, some tools lying around, and the sound of machines in the background. We handle the technical side of building things and make sure the structures are solid. It’s dusty and loud sometimes, but it’s honest work.
