Astha Health Clinic

You can find us on 40 Feet Road in Badarpur, right behind the Stanford Convent School. If you’re driving past the school, you just have to take the turn and we’re right there. It’s a general health clinic, so we get a bit of everything walking through the door. One minute it’s a kid with a scraped knee and the next it’s an elderly man needing his blood pressure checked. The road outside can get very dusty, especially when the wind picks up, so I find myself sweeping the entrance way more than I’d like. The clinic itself is pretty straightforward. We have a small exam room and a place for people to sit while they wait. We’ve been at this spot for a good while now, and most of the people in Badarpur seem to know where we are. I usually bring my lunch from home and eat it at the back desk when there’s a lull in the afternoon. The walls are a pale blue color that’s starting to fade a bit near the corners. We don’t have fancy coffee machines or anything, just a water dispenser in the corner. It’s a very local operation. We know many of our patients by their first names, which makes the work feel a bit more personal. It’s not a high-pressure environment, just a steady stream of neighbors coming in for help with their health.
