Our shop is at 32-B/1 in Govindpuri, Kalkaji. We are directly opposite the Kalkaji Bus Depot, which is a big landmark around here. It means there is always a crowd and the sound of buses and horns all day long. Our place is not very big, and we have it packed from floor to ceiling with all the stuff we trade. We’ve been in this building for a long time. The stairs are a bit steep and the paint is peeling in some places, but it’s home to us. We don’t have a big team of employees. It is just a few of us who know exactly where every item is hidden on the shelves. We don't bother with computers for the inventory. We just know what we have and what we need to get. It’s a traditional way of doing things, and it works for us. People stop by all day, sometimes just to ask for directions because of the depot across the street. We don’t mind. We talk to everyone who walks in. We don't have a showroom or any fancy displays. It is just a practical trading business. We open early when the first buses start moving and we close up when it gets dark. We don't have any big marketing slogans. We just sell what people need and try to be fair about it. That is how it goes in Kalkaji.
