Vikas International

Vikas International is out in the Barhi Industrial Area in Sonipat. We’re on Plot 101 and 102. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but there’s plenty of space which is what we need. The industrial area is quite sprawling. Most of the time, the air is filled with the sounds of the surrounding plants. Our plot is pretty big, so we have different sections for different things. It’s not a fancy office building; it’s a working site. We have a small area where we do the paperwork, but most of the action happens on the floor. Sonipat can get really cold in the winter and incredibly hot in the summer, so the rhythm of the day changes with the seasons. We usually have people coming and going throughout the shift. There’s always something that needs fixing or an order that needs to be packed up. We keep a kettle going for tea because that’s how we get through the long afternoons. It’s a bit isolated compared to the city, but we like the focus it gives us. We don’t spend much time on decorations or making things look pretty. It’s all about the work and making sure the machines are running. We just keep at it, day after day, making sure the plot is organized and the work gets done. It's a long day, but being out here in Barhi has its own kind of routine.
